Comedy & Improv

Matt Vita is a stand up comedian. Come to his weekly show!

One time he did 45 minutes at a Winery in Virginia and an audience member said “that was really good, can I have your autograph?”, another time he produced a show in NYC where he made 45 comics do 1 minute each and a comic said “that was really weird, can I have a drink ticket?”. In New Hampshire a club owner’s mother paid him $10 to take off his shirt during a set in front of 150 people and he got a few cheers, in NYC he did a Mrs. Maisel impersonation and took his shirt off in the middle of a set and got a few boos.  At Mohegan Sun Casino in CT the headliner bailed last minute and Matt got to headline, at Parx Casino in PA Matt was the headliner and last minute he decided to play the guitar and freestyle rap about the audience.

Matt Vita is an improviser.

His monthly “Intergalactic Improv Battle” was the longest running Saturday night main stage improv contest in all of NYC, and every show somehow ended with him wrestling co-host Jacob Halberg in a singlet.  He’s been on house teams, he’s done hip hop improv for big corporations, musical improv for swanky house parties, and even jumped out of a cake once at a bachelorette party pretending to be a stripper… but then just like did some shirtless rapping and improv as a surprise.

Matt Vita is sketchy AF!

He’s been on sketch comedy house teams at The PIT (New York), Lit Comedy (DC), and has produced several one-man shows.  At the last ever DCM in 2018, his solo mainstage performance of “The Self Reflective Insult Comic” was the most powerful piece of art ever billed as comedy, according to at least one other drunk person backstage, and his multidisciplinary “Yes, It Did Hurt” which premiered at the The PIT’s 2017 Solocom probably included screenshots of your girlfriend messaging Matt on Tinder in 2016.

Matt Vita Coaches

If this third person commentary voice isn’t enough, here’s a quote from one of Matt’s actual improv students...

“Matt is an attentive and thoughtful coach that taught us how to dig deep and find interesting characters, upping our game every practice!”
